When I was a kid, my mom would always say, “I’m busier than a one-armed paper hanger.” I had no freaking clue what that meant. For some reason, to my young brain, the image brought to mind clothes hangers with paper hanging on them, which made no sense. Personally, I prefer busy as a bee. Those suckers flit from flower to flower collecting pollen, working so hard!
All this to say – I’m busier than a one-armed paper hanger! Busy as a bee! Geez, I need a vacation but I don’t think one of those is coming along soon. In fact, I’m going to get busier in the coming weeks.
Deep breath.
So yeah, this post is going to be short. As in “hey, how are you, gotta go now, see ya later!” And I’m sorry about that. The good news is, the final installment in the Whitewood Journals (Fire and Frost) is in my editor’s hands for the second round of edits, which means Ellie and her gargoyles are coming to you very soon. I’m looking at a mid-July release for Fire and Frost, just in time for my birthday.
In the meantime, I’m still working on Earthborn 3 and a short story about a crusty paranormal hunter, not to mention reading a million books and watching Shadow and Bone on Netflix. Oh, and posting videos on TikTok because apparently I don’t have enough to do. I’d say I’m a sucker for punishment, but I love all this stuff. Sometimes, it’s hard work, but most of the time, it’s a blast.
I hope all of you are safe and healthy and busy in the best of ways, doing the things you love.
Now, go read a book!
